Introducing Pathway Memory Care Community
What is Memory Care?
A memory care community provides another level of safety and support for people living with the challenges that dementia brings. While it’s possible for many people to continue living at home or with family in the early stages of dementia, as the disease progresses, the 24/7 support of a memory care facility may be a better choice for quality of life and social connection.
In addition to offering stimulating activities, social opportunities, and nutritious, home-cooked meals, memory care communities include special features particular to dementia patients.
For example, 6 in 10 people with dementia wander at some point, and many do so more than once. Ours is a secure facility to keep our residents safe. Further, apartments and common areas are designed to reduce confusion and provide comfort. Importantly, daily routines are used to reduce stress and anxiety that often comes with dementia.
Finally, our staff at Pathway are specially trained and experienced in providing care and support to people living with dementia. At Daily Hills, our residents are part of our family, so you can trust that we’ll provide your loved one the care they need.

Kelly - Director of Nursing
Kelly graduated from Berea College in 1996 with her BSN and has worked in various nursing settings since. She started at the VA hospital in Lexington, KY, then went to home health, and eventually landed at the University of Kentucky. At the UK Medical Center, she worked in the ICU, was Division Charge Nurse for the ICU’s and step-down units, research coordinator, and the Clinical Coordinator for the Telemedicine program. Kelly has recently been a case manager for individual clients and their families, establishing care plans to meet the ongoing needs of the elderly. She will be finishing her MSN in Nurse Executive Leadership in the next year.
During her time as Case Manager, Kelly had the pleasure of working with some of the beautiful people at Daisy Hill Senior Living, leading to her current position as Director of Nursing for Pathway Memory Care. Her vision and passion are in ministering to residents and their families, especially those who are experiencing complications of dementia.
When not working, Kelly will likely be found doing something with her two dogs. She enjoys running agility and other dog training aspects.
